EUCI Data Center Conference

The explosion of digital content, big data, e-commerce, and Internet traffic is making data centers one of the fastest-growing consumers of electricity in developed countries and are the backbone of the modern economy. From the server rooms that power small- to medium-sized organizations to the enterprise data centers that support American corporations and the server farms that run cloud computing services hosted by large power users, data centers are one of the key drivers in the construction of new power plants.

With this growth at the forefront of future planning and business development decisions, utilities are eager to learn how to address the data centers’ needs as well as learn what steps to take internally to stay competitive in this space. At the same time, data center operators and owners are making significant long term decisions on site selection and sustainability efforts directly related to the power needs of their centers.

The 2016 Utilities and Data Centers Conference provides this unique dual perspective, focusing not only on the trends in data center growth and operations and how this relates to the utilities industry, but also on the utility/operator relationship and how to best attract, retain and work together in the long term.

Visit EUCI Data Center Conference for full details on this event.

Infocast 6th Defense Renewables Summit

The Department of Defense (DoD) is making great strides towards its goals of meeting at least 20% of energy demand with renewable energy resources by 2020. But between the Army MATOC program, DLA and Navy acquisitions, over $7B in investments is needed in the near-term to supply renewable energy to the DoD and this opportunity can ultimately amount to tens of billions in private investment.

Energy security initiatives have led to large off-base utility-scale wind and solar projects with utilities for the benefit of increased grid and base resiliency, a prime example being the historic 210 (MW) Mesquite Solar 3 project by the Department of the Navy (DON) in partnership with Sempra and WAPA. Developments such as Fort Hood’s large-scale, microgrid-capable solar & wind project is enabling the DoD to meet its energy security goals. With Cybersecurity concerns on the forefront, the telecom industry and the “industrial internet” have key roles to play in the expansion of reliable, secure and resilient network capability.

Transitioning to cleaner energy, tackling water scarcity risks and ensuring resilient supply chains that protect and enhance basic human rights are forcing big changes for companies and investors across entire industries. In many cases, they are catalyzing seismic shifts that go far beyond ‘business as usual.’

Companies and investors can either recognize and adapt to these rapidly shifting landscapes and get ahead of the curve – or be left behind.

Join us at the Ceres Conference 2016 to learn how sectors from electric utilities and transportation to food and finance are adapting to 21st century sustainability challenges – and to gain an understanding of the roadblocks ahead as we work together to address sustainability threats on a more-crowded, more-connected warming planet. Visit CERES to learn more abou this event.
