Mariam Hosseiny’s career with us began in an administrative role and, through exploration and expansion, has evolved into a management position in contracts. Along the way, she has embraced new challenges, learned from supportive managers, and developed a passion for helping teams move complex projects forward.
How did you come to work at EDF power solutions?
I joined in 2018 after working at SDG&E. I started as an Administrative Assistant supporting the Vice President of Technical Services, now Engineering, Procurement, Construction & Technical Services. The role gave me the opportunity to learn how different teams and parts of the business operated. With encouragement from my manager, I asked questions, took on new responsibilities, and explored opportunities outside my original role. Those experiences ultimately led me into contracts.
Describe your current role.
As a Senior Contracts Manager for Grid-Scale Power, I support teams throughout the contracting process—from reviewing and negotiating agreements to helping ensure we follow company policies and procedures. I work with stakeholders across the business to answer questions, resolve issues, move contracts forward efficiently, and reduce unnecessary risk.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
I enjoy seeing how my work supports the broader goals of Grid-Scale Power and the company. Every contract is different, so there is always something new to learn and solve. The work is especially meaningful because these projects help supply the energy that communities rely on. That gives the work a sense of purpose beyond the contract itself.
What is one lesson you’ve learned during your time here that you’d like to share with others?
I’ve learned that I don’t have to know everything before trying something new. Much of my growth has come from stepping outside my comfort zone, asking questions, and learning along the way. I’ve also become more comfortable making mistakes, speaking up when I have a different perspective, and adapting my communication style to different people and situations.
What do you enjoy most about the company culture?
I appreciate the support and trust I’ve received from my leaders. My managers have encouraged me to think about my long-term career goals, explore new opportunities, and take ownership of my work. I also enjoy the friendly, approachable atmosphere and the opportunity to build relationships through team events and offsites. Those connections make collaboration and problem-solving easier—and the holiday parties are always a good time!

What personal achievement are you most proud of?
My two daughters. Raising them has not always been easy, but I’m incredibly proud of who they are and excited to see who they become.
