The 111.2 MWac Valentine Solar is located on approximately 1,260 acres of private land in Kern County’s Mojave Desert, its adjacent to the EDF RE’s Catalina Solar 2 Project. Valentine will be comprised of horizontal single-axis tracking solar photovoltaic technology generating power equivalent to avoiding more than 225,000 metric tons of CO₂ emissions annually. This is equivalent to the emissions of 48,000 passenger vehicles driven over the course of one year.
EDF Renewables signed a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement with Southern California Edison (SCE). The project will deliver clean electricity to SCE beginning in December 2019.
