Since joining the company, Guillaume Tremblay has helped strengthen a culture across the company’s North American operations where health, safety, and wellbeing are central to how teams work—on site, at home and together. Through practical support, prevention programs, and a people-first mindset, Guillaume helps teams reduce risk and create safer workplaces every day.
How did you come to work at EDF power solutions?
I joined the company unexpectedly. Some connections already working here told me the Health, Safety, Environment & Sustainability (HSES) team was looking for a specialist in Canada. I initially asked for more information so [that] I could recommend someone for the role, but I found the opportunity particularly intriguing. After giving it some thought, I applied and was offered the position.
Describe your current role.
I help drive health and safety culture across our North American organization. My goal is to help operations reduce work-related injuries to the lowest possible level. I support sites with contractor management, risk analysis, incident investigations, compliance management, and field audits. I also identify trends and help prevent future incidents through HSES programs, training, and safety communications.
What is the most rewarding part of your job?
The most rewarding part is seeing the tangible impact of new HSES programs—especially when they help reduce injuries and make a meaningful difference in employees’ health and safety. I also value watching people change their behaviors and work practices to prioritize their safety and wellbeing, both at work and at home. Helping people has always been one of my core values, and I’m grateful to do that for a living.
What is one lesson you’ve learned during your time here that you’d like to share with others?
After more than four years in the challenging renewables sector—and in an era of AI and abundant technological solutions—I’ve learned that keeping the human factor at the center is the best way to overcome complex challenges and succeed in difficult times.
What do you enjoy most about the company culture?
The team spirit stands out most to me. There is always someone willing to help, and departments and stakeholders work together to find solutions that benefit everyone. No one is left behind, and every voice matters.
Dream vacation:
An explorative backpacking trip through Vietnam is high on my list, especially to experience the culture, local food, and scenic motorcycle routes.
Favorite movie:
My favorite film is Lord of the Rings. I love its atmosphere, music, characters and the way it switches from slow pace peacefull scenes to very intense and dramatic scenes.
Favorite hobby:
Music has always been important to me—whether I’m playing instruments, composing, recording, or jamming with friends. I also enjoy everything related to outdoor winter activities like snowboarding, building igloos, and snowmobiles.
